Knott's Presents Susan G. Komen OC with a #KnottsPink Check« Go Back Wednesday, May 14th, 2014
There are many reasons thousands of employees are proud to say they work for Knott’s, and what makes this organization so special for so many of us is Knott’s endless commitment to give back to the local community. From honoring military families throughout the year to contributing to Orange County’s food banks each winter – Knott’s is always striving to do more. This year Knott’s did a lot more for the Southern California community that we call home in an inaugural partnership with Susan G. Komen Orange County.
The funds were raised through theme park fun, but it was never lost on us just how serious the cause is that we’re helping to fund. On May 14, 2014 Knott’s Berry Farm along with pink clad Peanuts characters presented Komen Orange County with a very pink check for $97,621.11. Additionally, the “Knott’s For the Cure” logo was unveiled on the Alinea mobile digital mammography motor coach. The check presentation event also recognized Knott’s Berry Farm’s valuable contribution to Komen OC by giving back to the park through free private mammography screenings for Knott’s employees and families inside of the motor coach.
It is Knott's hope that the funds raised for Komen OC will take us one step closer to finding a cure, and connecting people in our community with the resources Komen provides.
