This morning as the townsfolk of Calico strolled through the streets of Ghost Town, a shocking sight startled them all. The beloved Catawampus of Calico, was gone!
First of all, what is the Catawampus? The Catawampus is the last of the “Wood-imal” creatures from the Jungle Island attraction long ago. You can learn more about the history of the Catawampus in a previous blog post.
Usually, the Catawampus resides at the end of Main Street under the windmill in Ghost Town, but since its disappearance, only an empty space remains. The wooden fence in front of the Catawampus has been broken through leaving behind a few scratches. Word around town is that the Catawampus escaped; others think it may have been taken but nobody seems to know for sure. If you’ve seen or heard anything on the whereabouts of the Catawampus, please report it to Calico Town Hall. The citizens of Calico are mighty concerned.
Update: September 4, 2017
The Catawampus of Calico has returned! All summer, folks have spotted a baby Catawampus roaming around Ghost Town showing up in different locations every week from the Calico Mine Ride to the town school house.
Today the Catawampus has returned to its rightful spot in Calico at the end of Main Street with the baby Catawampus. It's official, the Catawampus is no longer the last of its kind. Good citizens of Calico, please welcome back the Catawampus and the arrival of baby Catawampus, aka the Kittywampus! Come by and say "Moo".
