A Guide to Knott's Merry Farm with Preschoolers

Melanie Walsh

Knott's Berry Blogger 2019
Blogger. Crafter. Over-punctuator.  My name is Melanie Walsh, and I’m thrilled to be a 2018 Berry Blogger.  When I’m not hunting down boysenberry treats, I am exploring all of the family fun Orange County has to offer on my blog, Clementine County.  There you’ll find travel, crafts, recipes, and fun!

My family has had so much fun celebrating each Season of Fun at Knott’s.  From the yummy foods of Boysenberry Festival to the dressing up for Spooky Farm, we have made so many happy memories.  Now that Merry Farm is here, we can’t wait to spend even more time at the Farm!

If you’re looking for inspiration to make Merry Farm the merriest, check out these events and attractions with your preschooler.

Merry Farm with Preschoolers

Mrs. Claus’s Kitchen

Help Mrs. Claus bake some fun treats in Mrs. Claus’s Kitchen.  Cooking decorating is available for a nominal fee of $5.99 (don’t forget to use your Season Passholder discount).  Two cookies come in a kit, so we split our cookie package among our kids.  The cookie kits come in an adorable PEANUTS box, which was perfect for storing the treats for later.

There are yummy holiday treats around every corner.  The bakery is filled with the cutest cupcakes!

Santa’s Christmas Cabin

Santa is available for snuggles and wishlist sharing in Santa’s Christmas Cabin.  You’re welcome to snap photos with your own camera, but professional images are available.  Looking for another photo op?  Snap a picture with your little one sitting on the steps leading to Santa’s toy shop.

Festive Shows

For kids who go, go, go, it’s great to have a plan for taking a break during your visit.  Check out A Peanuts Guide to Christmas on the Camp Snoopy Theatre with plenty of songs your little one will love.  A favorite of the whole family’s is the Snoopy Ice Show: Merry Christmas, Snoopy! which is worth the price of admission.

Snow and Glow Show

Check the forecast--there’s snow in Calico!  As dusk falls on the farm, the streets of Calico are dusted with a sprinkling of snow.  To make the experience even more awe-inspiring, the sparkling lights twinkle in time with the music.  New adorable lanterns are available for purchase and sync up to the show to fully immerse you in the fun.

Get Holiday Gift Ideas

Shop the Christmas Crafts Village or the many stores for holiday gift-giving inspiration.  If your preschooler likes blind bag toys like mine does, the Santa’s Gift Bags are a fun surprise.  Inside are a collection of toys.  No peeking ahead of time makes it really fun to open!

Camp Snoopy

Keeping with the Sierra theme, Camp Snoopy is decorated with sprigs of greens and wooden ornaments bearing the faces of your favorite PEANUTS Gang pals.  You may see them for photo ops around Camp Snoopy and also next to the Camp Snoopy Theatre.  The rides are all preschooler-favorites, with age-appropriate thrills.

Calico Railroad

There are even more family-friendly rides outside of Camp Snoopy.  Trains are always a hit with kids and kids at heart.  The Calico Railroad locomotive is decked with its holiday best, so climb aboard for a trip through Knott’s.

Fill your preschooler’s day with fun and you’ll be sure to make the merriest memories at Knott’s Berry Farm this season.  The best way to celebrate each Season of Fun is with a Knott’s Berry Farm Season Pass.  What does your preschooler love to do at Knott’s?
