Boysenberry Festival Event Guide and Tips

Knott's Berry Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm is home to world-class rides, thrilling roller coasters, shows & attractions in 4 themed areas including Old West Ghost Town and Camp Snoopy.

The most delicious time of year is here! The Knott's Boysenberry Festival is the springtime celebration of all things BOYSENBERRY from food, to merchandise to special live entertainment. Here is your official 2018 Boysenberry Festival Map and Event Guide along with some of our favorite tips and tricks to enjoying the Knott's Boysenberry Festival.

Arrival

Before you arrive, make sure you have everything you need starting with tickets. The Knott's Boysenberry Festival is included with regular park admission or a 2018 Knott's Berry Farm Season Pass. Park tickets are available for as low as $49 online or you can pick up a coupon at your local Southern California Dunkin Donuts or Baskin Robbins to save up to $30 on general admission. Food items for the festival are not included with admission. Remember that outside food, other than baby food and snacks for special dietary needs, is not permitted. You can, however, bring unopened water bottles into the park. The park opens at 10:00am daily so for the shortest wait for rides, food, etc. it's best to arrive early.
Pro Tip: Season Passholders receive early entry to Knott's Berry Farm on Saturday, March 17 starting at 9:00am and early entry to Camp Snoopy, Fiesta Village and select parts of Ghost Town from March 31 - April 8 starting at 9:30am. Just use your valid 2018 Season Pass at the main gate to receive early entry.

Food, Obviously

With over 75 different boysenberry food, drinks, treats, and more, how do you decide where to start? The best way to enjoy the tastes of the festival is with a food tasting card. For $30 you receive up to 8 generous tastings of boysenberry sweet and savory treats. New this year, you may choose to taste one of each of the available options or you can mix and match your options up to 8 tastings. The tasting portions are very generous and the card is valid throughout the run of the festival. You can learn more about the Food Tasting Card options and purchase online here.
Pro Tip: The locations serving tasting card items are available throughout the entire day during the Boysenberry Festival. We’ve found that these stands are the busiest in the early afternoon (1-4pm) so try to eat early or later to avoid long lines.

Outside of the tasting card options, there are still a ton of treats to try. Other items new to the Boysenberry Festival include the Boysenberry Bubble Tea/Boba. This Boysenberry twist on a popular beverage can be found at the Gourmet Coffee Hut, near Voyage to the Iron Reef, and at the Ghost Town Bakery, across from the GhostRider. Other new treats include the Boysenberry Pie Milkshake from Ghost Town Grill, dine in only, and the 2 ft. hot dog on a Boysenberry Bun from the Wilderness Broiler, across from Big Foot Rapids. And yes, boysenberry ketchup, boysenberry mustard, and boysenberry relish will be available for your hot dog.

Other Boysenberry Festival favorites will also be making their return for 2018 including the Fun Bun, deep-fried alligator and fries with boysenberry aioli in a cone, and boysenberry pizza. A complete list of returning favorites can be found here.

Appetizing Shows and Experiences

There is a ton of special live entertainment available just for the Boysenberry Festival including the Calico Park Games. Our festival officiant and judge, Phineas B. Berry, will coordinate fun games and activities for the little ones ranging from line dancing to an old fashion pie eating contest. Activities in the Calico Park Games change often so make sure to check back throughout the day. Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang also invite you for a hoedown at the Calico Mine Stage in the high energy show, Snoopy's Boysenberry Jam-boree. Also playing in the legendary Birdcage Theatre is the Boysenberry Melodrama where you are encouraged to cheer the hero and boo the villain. A full line up of entertainment offerings and activities can be found here.
ProTIp: Take a break in the Wilderness Dance Hall and gander at some original artwork in the new art show "Tied Up In Knott's" as these artists pay tribute to the history of Knott's Berry Farm and the boysenberry.

Take Home Treats

Take home the tastes and scents of the festivities with some of the brand new merchandise available for the festival. The official Boysenberry Festival T-Shirt comes with a limited edition festival pin. You can purchase your festival shirt at the merchandise booth across from the GhostRider queue entrance. Indulge in the new decadent chocolate varieties infused with boysenberry flavor. Items include boysenberry caramel squares, chocolate covered almonds, truffles and more! These treats can be found in the General Store in Ghost Town and the Berry Market outside the park. And after a long and tasty day at Knott's relax in the scents of Boysenberry Lavender with new bath bombs, salt soaks, and candles available in the Gold Trails Hotel in Ghost Town and Virginia’s Gift Shop outside the park.
ProTip: Don’t forget to check out the 20+ artisan crafters selling homemade gifts throughout the streets of Ghost Town along with live artist demonstrations including chainsaw woodcarving and glass blowing.
ProProTip: Real live boysenberry plants are back by popular demand. There is a limited supply of plants and will sell out so if you want to grow your own boysenberries, make sure to purchase early. Get yours at the entrance to Ghost Town across from the Stroller Shop.
