Information For Guests With Disabilities

At Knott's Berry Farm we are proud of our reputation for accommodating guests with disabilities through our Ride Admission Policy. To continue to provide equal access for all guests, be aware that all guests with mobility impairments or ASD will now receive a Ride Boarding Pass with wait times. The Ride Boarding Pass Program allows guests to access rides at specified times via the exit ramp in order to avoid crowds and waiting in the regular queue lines.

You may be asking yourself whether Knott's Berry Farm is appropriate for guests with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or whether your loved one on the spectrum will be able to handle the theme park experience. Knott's Berry Farm has taken steps to be well-prepared to welcome and provide accommodations for all types of disabilities, including autism and related disorders.

Guests who have a state issued placard or license plate for the disabled may park in any parking lot. All posted parking fees apply. All marked stalls reserved for the disabled are patrolled by the Buena Park Police Department and citations will be issued to vehicles not displaying a valid placard or plate. Knott's Berry Farm's drop-off area can be used to pick up or drop off guests with disabilities. Our drop-off area is located directly in front of the Grand Entrance. A Guest Service Associate is stationed at the pedestrian crosswalk, in the center of Grand Avenue, should you have any questions, or you can contact the Traffic Control Office direct at (714) 220-5014.

To enhance the visit of our guests with hearing impairments, hearing assistance devices are available at the Information Center, located next to the Grand Entrance of the Park.

Expectant Mothers will be limited from participating on the following attractions, due to the dynamic motion involved when riding: Bigfoot Rapids®, Boomerang, Camp Bus, Dragon Swing, GhostRider®, Hat Dance, High Sierra Ferris Wheel, Jaguar!®, La Revolucion, Log Ride, Rapid River Run, Montezooma's Revenge®, Pony Express, RipTide, Rocky Mountain Truckin' Co, Sierra Sidewinder, Silver Bullet, Supreme Scream®, Timberline Twister, Waveswinger, Wheeler Dealer Bumper Cars, Wipeout, Woodstock's Airmail, and Xcelerator.

Please contact one of our Guest Service Associates for assistance in these areas. All full service restaurants are accessible to guests in wheelchairs. These include the Chicken Dinner Restaurant, TGI Friday's, The Ghost Town Grill, and Spurs Chop House. Guests with vision impairments may ask a Guest Service Associate for assistance with obtaining information on menu items and prices. Guest Service Associates will be happy to assist with restaurant orders and bringing orders to the tables.

All restrooms have facilities designed for access to guests in wheelchairs. Rest rooms with wheelchair accessibility are signed accordingly and are located throughout the park in each themed area.

At Knott's Berry Farm, we want all of our guests to have a safe and enjoyable day. Every guest has different capabilities and limitations. Guests of exceptional size, those with temporary disabilities (such as casts and braces), and certain permanent disabilities (such as neuromuscular disorders, amputations and other disabling conditions) may be prohibited from participating on some attractions for safety reasons. Hand-held infants may not be taken on the Park's more aggressive attractions. Expectant mothers and guests with heart or back conditions should be cautious in deciding which attractions to experience. For your protection, all the attractions here at Knott's Berry Farm incorporate safety systems that are designed by the manufacturer to accommodate people of average physical stature and body proportion. All passenger restraint systems, including lap bars, shoulder harnesses and seat belts must be positioned and fastened properly to allow guests to ride. Due to rider restraint requirements, guests of exceptional size may not be accommodated on some of our attractions. This may apply, but not limited to, guests who exceed 6'2" or those who exceed 250 pounds, have a 46" waistline or 54" chest. Exceptionally large or small individuals, guests who have a history of heart, back or neck trouble or recent surgery, expectant mothers, guests with casts, braces, restrictive devices or disabilities may be affected by the requirements needed to ensure these systems operate properly. Our Ride Safety Policy has been developed in consultation with a bio-dynamics engineer and a rehabilitation specialist, on the recommendations of the manufacturer, our past experience, and our evaluation of each attraction using our knowledge of the attraction both in normal and emergency operating conditions. Our prime consideration is the ability of each guest to endure the dynamics of each attraction without the risk of injury to that guest or other riders. If you would like more rider information, please request a "Rider Safety Guide" available at the Information Center, located at the Grand Entrance. We'll be happy to brief you on our Rider Safety Guide and explain how it applies to your specific situation. Most attractions cannot accommodate strollers, backpacks, cameras, stuffed animals, or bulky objects. Please leave them with a non-riding friend. Ride Operators cannot be responsible for these items. For safety reasons, eating/drinking, taking pictures, videotaping, and filming while participating on the attractions is prohibited. Headwear is discouraged on most attractions; however, if worn, it must be secured. All guests must meet all height and weight requirements for each attraction as posted at the attraction entrance. Guests with service animals should follow the same procedures on the attractions as those outlined for guests with mobility impairments. Because of the aggressive nature of some attractions, service animals may need to be left with a non-riding member of the guest's party.

Quantities are limited so rentals do sell out. A limited amount of electric wheelchairs can be reserved. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. For reservations and questions please contact (714) 220-5495.

Service animals are welcome at Knott’s Berry Farm. A service animal is defined as a dog or miniature pony that has been individually trained to perform tasks for a person with disabilities. We may ask you what task your service animal performs for you. Service animals must be controlled with a “restraining device” at all times while on our property. There is a limit of one service animal per guest. Due to the nature of most rides, service animals must remain with a non-riding member of your party. We are not permitted to take control of your service animal. Service animals are not permitted in water attractions, wet decks, wading pools, or lazy rivers. A relief area is located in the Boardwalk area next to the Wheeler Dealer Bumper Cars. Please stop by the Information Center located at the Front Gate for more information.
