Application Administrator

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in an Information Technology related field.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the development and accuracy of all point of sale and ticketing products for Knott's Berry Farm, Soak City, and the Knott's Berry Farm Hotel.  This includes all Micros, Gate Central, Advance Ticketing and web sales via Accesso.
  • Creation of calendars, validity templates, and product profiles to ensure products scan properly.  As well as creating copies for all Hard Tickets, eTickets, confirmation letters, receipt tickets and formatting and editing contracts.
  • MLINK setup and management of interface systems between Gate Central and Micros.
  • Will be called on to troubleshoot customer facing problems and make decisions on pricing and validity of tickets when time-sensitive guest and customer issues arise.
  • Implementation and communication of all ticketing price changes to guest relations and other park departments.
  • Supports product development needs for Marketing and Sales, Hotel, Foods, and Merchandise.
  • Training staff on gate central, ATS, Web Manager, and Accesso Systems.  Training includes report creation and training on proper input needed for product development.

Cake Decorator - Age 18+

This position is responsible for decorating a variety of cakes for all occasions. In addition, this position is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the decorating area, tools and equipment.

Director, Ride and Electrical Maintenance

JOB FUNCTIONS SUMMARY:
Directs the repair, maintenance and inspection of all amusement rides and related equipment at Knott's Berry Farm. Ensures the safety of all amusement rides and equipment. Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Local and Company codes, standards, and procedures. Maximizes ride availability during peak attendance periods. Directs maintenance and repair of facility electrical and general lighting equipment. Directs maintenance and repair of company-owned vehicles and heavy equipment. Develops, implements, and administers departmental budgets and spending to achieve assigned tasks and maximize value. Directs the Hiring, training, and development of subordinate staff.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Documented history of training and development of subordinate staff.
  • At least 5 years' experience with ordering and procurement in a Maintenance role.
  • Solid understanding of basic budgeting and accounting practices and at least 5 years' direct experience tracking and administering maintenance budgets.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of basic Mechanical and Electrical principles and common industry practices.
  • Documented history of successfully managing a medium-sized to large staff composed of multiple trades and a diverse workforce.
  • 6 to 10 years' experience of successful Maintenance Management in an Amusement Park or Industrial setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure Guest and Employee safety at all times.

Emergency Medical Technician - Age 18+

Farm Electrical - Lighting Technician - Age 18+

The responsibility of the Farm Electrical – Lighting Technician is to quickly be able to evaluate and diagnose the problems with different styles of lamps, ballasts, and voltage for use in area lighting and show lighting. To always ensure employee and guest safety while always working in a safe manner. Be able to properly document work completed and to fill out the necessary paperwork that would be needed to purchase supplies for all upcoming work to be performed. Will also respond to unscheduled emergency work orders, prioritize levels of severity, while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Electrical field work with various types of lighting fixtures and different styles of lamps and ballasts
  • Must be able to work on own with little guidance and supervision, i.e. self-motivated
  • Must be able to work with different style hand tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Working on different types and styles of Man lifts and portable lifts
  • Climbing, lifting, kneeling, walking long distances, crawling, pulling, and pushing
  • Working for extended periods with arms above shoulders
  • Working at heights up to 300 feet

Help Desk Technician II - Age 18+

The responsibility of the Help Desk Technician II is to provide end user support and software, hardware, and network assistance. The position relies on experience and judgement as well as pre-established procedure and instructions to identify, research, and resolve technical problems presented through Level I, II, and III (when possible) Help Desk tickets. Additionally you would be responsible to document, track, and monitor the problems to ensure a timely resolution. The position involves projects and or assignments requiring considerable decision-making regarding procedures, plans, and schedules. Although there are sometimes problem-solving guidelines for particular problems, there are not always existing procedures or instructions for those problems. The incumbent is on their own in solving problems and determining satisfactory solutions. 

Other responsibilities and major duties include:

  • Trouble shooting and resolving Help Desk tickets related to technical difficulties with hardware, software and the network.
  • Triage level II and level III tickets.
  • Resolve network switch and connectivity issues.
  • Collaborate with development staff to recreate problems in the test environment.
  • Verify issue resolution on the customer’s behalf and then follow up to ensure the issue has been resolved, after which you would update the ticket in the system.
  • Interface with infrastructure, database, and development personnel.
  • Communicate plan, progress and issues in a timely manner.
  • Actively contribute to ongoing process improvement and documentation of systems and processes.
  • Complete multiple simultaneous projects in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university is preferred).
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience in customer support / help desk assistance.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems and applications.
  • Must have A+, Network+, MCP or equivalent certifications or experience.
  • Must have a good command of the English language in order to provide effective phone, desk-side, and email support.
  • Must be able to gauge the customer’s technical ability and communicate with them in an appropriate technical or non-technical language in a non-condescending manner.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a dynamic environment.
  • Some entertainment or public venue experience is preferred.

Loss Prevention Investigator - Age 18+

The primary responsibility of a Loss Prevention Investigator is to protect the assets of Knott's Berry Farm including Guests, Employees and property. This includes detering criminal acts, interviewing and interrogating, and any activity that violates Park rules and regulations. Other duties include written documentation of incidents (reading and writing skills), use of a computer and use of two way radios.

Requirements:
You must be at least 18 years of age, a high school graduate, or equivalent to be considered for this position. Must have Loss Prevention experience. Interviewing and interrogation techniques experience preferred. Must be able to attend and obtain certification from a company approved Interview & Interrogation class upon the request of the company. This must be done before the applicant could conduct internal interrogations. You must also have a California Guard Card.

Pastry Chef - Age 21+

The responsibility of the Pastry Chef is to craft various delectable; such as cakes, pies, tarts, and bread components. The Pastry Chef will coordinate with the Executive Sous Chef as well as the Executive Chef in pairing bread and desserts, ordering supplies, and planning and directing baking preparation as well as supervising a team of baking staff. It is essential to have comprehensive knowledge of managing PAR levels, budgets, and scheduling as well as other administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Must have college or culinary training, or extensive cooking and production experience (Six to Ten years of Pastry and Baking preferred)
  • Must be capable of creating, testing, and evaluating new pastry and dessert recipes from scratch as well as sauces, fillings, jellies, frostings, and icings
  • Must be capable of creating baked goods for specific diets (gluten free, sugar free, diabetes-friendly, etc.)
  • Must have knowledge of knives, major kitchen production equipment, bakery and pastry work
  • Must be capable of producing original items of design for wedding cakes, regular cakes, retail baked goods, and special event pastries
  • Must be able to understand the use of temperature and plate presentation

Plumber - Age 18+

This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing all plumbing fixtures and pumps in the park. Maintaining air and natural gas systems for buildings and rides within the park. Maintaining and monitoring irrigation and domestic water supply, including fire systems and irrigation facility within the park. Tests water quality and checks chemicals at pool and water rides using computerized chemical control systems. Document water treatment techniques, water quality and meter readings. Fits piping for air, water, gas, and sewer lines; repair gas and air systems; and use welding equipment to repair piping in the park. Respond to requests for checkups and repairs.

Requirements:

  • Must have 3 to 5 years experience of plumbing and repair work
  • Experience with commercial and residential plumbing systems, sprinkler systems, etc., or an equivalent amount of education/training to provide the required amount of skill and ability.
  • Prefer experience in water quality control.
  • Prefer at least 3 years experience in swimming pool treatment techniques.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license preferred.
  • Position required rotating first and second shifts, including weekends and holidays during the operating season.

Job Function Summary:

  • Executes as well as creates store decorations and visual merchandising for seasonal, special and promotional events.
  • Maintains store merchandise display and presentations through training and developing Merchandise associates. 
  • Acquires, prepares and installs stores existing and new materials for the stores visual merchandise displays in support of planned designs and projects.  Maintain effective communication with employees and management and assist with special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

Night Service Supervisor

The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the Night Services Department maintains a professional atmosphere, and is meeting the standards 

of safety and complete park cleanliness.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensures the park grounds are clean and ready for daily operation by following up on tasks assigned to Team Leaders and front line associates; monitors Night Services department supply and equipment levels, and places orders with consideration for park operating needs and budgetary constrictions.
  • Supervises daily work performance of Team Leaders and Custodians; provides coaching and counseling regarding performance and disciplinary situations; provides credible input into discipline, promotion, demotion, and termination decisions; prepares and conducts Job Performance Evaluations for direct and indirect reports.
  • Upholds safety standards by ensuring that associates are working according to the policies and procedures outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual; completes Medical Treatment Authorizations, conducts safety investigations, and completes Supervisor Accident Investigate reports; submits work orders and ensures repairs are completed; directs associate actions during emergency situations.
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, state, and local law including regulations set by the California Operational Safety and Health Administration; enforces guidelines in regards to vehicle licensing hazardous waste disposal, storm drain maintenance, and chemical and fuel storage.
  • Reviews daily, weekly, and monthly department paperwork and reports, and takes action to implement appropriate corrective actions to resolve operational concerns; suggests changes to department policies and procedures in order to improve safety or operational efficiency.
  • Assists in preparing and administering annual department operating budget; makes daily adjustments (labor, ODC) throughout the year to meet department specific goals.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.

A supervisor at Starbucks is responsible for overseeing and directing the efforts of the Cable Car Complex. Manages all employees throughout

TGI Friday’s General Manager

The TGI Friday's General Manager is responsible for overseeing all of TGI Friday's operations that includes building sales, financial documents, hiring and training, daily execution of safety/sanitation, quality food, and guest service. They lead a team of Restaurant Managers and team members in the execution of an excellent guest experience resulting in increasing guest counts, increasing sales, and optimizing profits. They create budgets, control COGs, and manage labor to work within their budget.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Estimates food and beverage costs to meet required budget, while planning budgeted expenditures for peak and off peak periods. Validates inventory per company standards. Attains area planned financial objectives, including total revenue, per cap, cost of goods, labor costs, ODC's, and contribution. Meets restaurant financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

 

  • Executes daily administrative duties, including MICROS reports, banking needs, and NCR sales reports. Completes all financial and personnel / payroll related administrative duties in and an accurate and timely way, in accordance with company policies and procedures. Identifies opportunities to drive sales, traffic and return visits with a 4‑wall mentality; oversee implementation of local store marketing.

 

  • Communicates restaurant status to Director of Marketplace and VP Food & Beverage daily, including operational issues, employee concerns, guest concerns, special requests, prevention of losses to the company, and any other unusual situations. Directs safety meetings, alongside all management staff, while maintaining OSHA files in all current and new staff members. Ensures all cleanliness and safety standards are met at all times.

 

  • Manages all day‑to‑day restaurant operations with a focus on delivering a great guest experience; directly supervise and support 3–6 Managers and all FOH and BOH hourly team members. Frequently interacts with guests to ensure they receive the Fridays Service Style experience; follows up on any issues and complaints they may have to ensure guest Satisfaction. Respond to guest service complaints either in person or over the phone, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.

 

  • Determines current and future staffing needs in the restaurant to ensure an adequate number of talented team members are available to deliver a great guest experience. Executes on all brand standards through managing and coaching team members and Managers. Provides ongoing and honest feedback, coaching and development to managers and team members. Evaluates performance fairly and frequently and holds managers and team members accountable to results.

 

 

  • Identifies and develops high potential team members and Managers.  Ensures all newly hired team members follow and complete their appropriate training plan.

Mechanic- Ride Maintenance

The Ride Maintenance Mechanic performs inspections, maintenace, troubleshooting, repair, and annual rehabilitiation of a variety of different amusement rides and attractions. Areas of responsibility include (but are not limited to) maintenance of: gearboxes, chains, sprockets, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, wire rope, hoists, brakes, pumps, and large bearings. Climbing and working safely at height is an essential part of this position.

 

Responsibilities Include:

•Performs daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and other required inspections of amusement rides and related equipment as assigned; taking corrective actions as issues are identified. Inspections are visual as well as auditory.

• Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspects, repairs and tests amusement rides and related equipment. This may include repair or replacement of major components such as hydraulic cylinders, gears, chains, sprockets, pneumatic cylinders, hoses, brakes, clutches, wheels, bearings, gearboxes, springs, or a wide variety of other mechanical devices.

• Trouble shoots a variety of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems and takes appropriate corrective actions.

• Properly follows all repair procedures and maintains accurate documentation of all repairs. Maintains orderly and accurate records of all required inspections and work performed, and submits required paperwork to supervision in a timely manner. 

• Communicates the status of assigned rides both verbally and in written format.

• Maintains all assigned equipment in a safe and ready condition according to all applicable codes, laws, rules, company policies, and best practices. Works safely and efficiently on all assigned tasks, coordinating with other as necessary to achieve desired results.

• Performs a variety of other tasks depending on experience including welding (Mig, Tig and Arc) and fabrication; sets up and operates lathe, mill, drill press, grinder and other metal working equipment.

• Reads, understands and applies information from manufacturer's manuals for service, repair and or component replacement.  Accurately reads blue prints (mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic).

• Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.

• Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.

Qualifications:

• 2 to 4 years' verifiable experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or amusement setting.

• Working knowledge of basic mechanical principles such as gear ratios, torque, proper use of common hand tools, common mechanical nomenclature, etc.

• Familiarity with common types of bearings, bushings, couplers, shafting and similar power transmission components.

• Demonstrable knowledge of the fundamental principles of either pneumatic systems or hydraulic systems; preferably both.

• Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment.

• Ability to work safely and effectively while elevated on ladders, platforms, or other structures at heights up to 300 feet above ground.

• Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

The Property Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel building, equipment and to ensure guestrooms are in complete working order along with ensuring all public areas are free from unsighlty blemishes.

Electrician

The Electrician is responsible for inspecting, installing, repairing, and maintaining all of the electrical and communications systems and equipment. This includes but not limited 

to : wiring, electrical fixtures, electric motors, motor controls, variable frequency drives, soft starters, programmable logic controls, 

pumps, lighting, generators and all levels of electrical distribution, transformers, and inverters.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures, using hand tools 
  • and power tools. Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motors, etc.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause  of a breakdown and repair/correct the problem. Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Connect wires to panels, transformers, or other components. Install conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes per NEC and job scope/specifications.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
