A Scaredy-Cat's Guide to Knott's Scary Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm brings several things to mind: Boysenberry pies, Mrs. Knott’s fried chicken dinners, the Peanuts Gang and Camp Snoopy … and… Knott’s Scary Farm!

Yes! Knott’s SCARY Farm!

Some people wait for Knott’s Scary Farm … all.  year.  long!

Some thrive on getting scared. Or quite possibly love to see other people get scared. Whatever the reason, Knott’s Scary Farm is popular beyond belief. Which quite frankly amazes some people. People like me! Because … I’m a big scaredy-cat!  A HUGE scaredy-cat! The biggest scaredy-cat of all scaredy-cats!

BUT, I do recommend Knott’s Scary Farm for scaredy-cats. Even like me, as scared as I get.

Here are my best tips for Knott’s Scary Farm for the scaredy-cat!

FIRST Most importantly: don’t go alone! In fact, go with several other people. People who love you, want you to have a good time and will go out of their way to protect you.

(My people from right to left: David, Cody, Brian, a Knott’s Monster, Todd and Aki)

Do not, however, go with your 41-year old son who wants nothing more than to abandon you to the monsters.  And then laugh as they surround you, sneak up behind you, jump out at you. And, well, you get the picture!

SECOND – As hard as it might be: show no fear. NO fear!

Seriously! This year there seem to be more monsters than ever before! (A Knott’s Scary Farm team member in costume = monster!) You’ll find them lurking about in the fourteen different, amazing, scary mazes. And, of course, walking throughout Knott’s Scary Farm. From the scary clowns at CarnEvil swarming The Boardwalk to the gothic creatures of the brand new Forsaken Lake, to the streets of Ghost Town, a myriad of monsters are ready and waiting to give you a scare.

Don’t be fooled. Knott’s Scary Farm monsters can somehow sense fear. And they thrive on it. Try not to make eye contact. I know, much easier said than done. Stay with your people. And … be brave!

THIRD – Take a tasty break from the scares.

The special scary food offerings Knott’s has created are incredible. From the sweet to the savory, there’s something for everyone.

FOURTH – Catch one of the many entertaining shows.

Relax and enjoy the entertainment while protectively surrounded by your people. There are a variety shows to choose from, from scary, to comedy, to magic.

FIFTH – Ride the rides. Specifically, the rides that have gone dark. Yes, dark! What a fun but spooky experience riding GhostRider, Sierra Sidewinder, Silver Bullet and Jaguar in the dark. No lights!

They’re not the only rides for Knott’s Scary Farm. There are many others including Timber Mountain Log Ride all done up as Halloween Hootenanny.

SIXTH – Get yourself and your group each a Fright & Fast Lane Pass.

Seriously! Knott’s Scary Farm is very popular and teeming with lots of fellow thrill seekers. With a Fright & Fast Lane Pass, you’ll save time and be able to do more of everything Knott’s Scary Farm has to offer. You’ll get access to priority lines for the mazes and specific rides.

So … are you ready to let your scaredy-cat out of the bag and brave Knott’s Scary Farm? Don’t be afraid. Be VERY BERRY afraid!
