Check out just some of the fun details that go into making families flock back to the park year after year to enjoy the holidays with their loved ones!
Decking the park! Merry Farm Decor, it takes LOTS of holiday decorations to transform every corner of the park and all the spaces in between, here’s the short list of what goes into transforming the farm:
143,000 lights
20,000 Feet of Foliage
400 Bows
120 Christmas Trees
200 Wreaths
100,000 various ornaments
And 1 Surfboard Tree, just for good measure.
There’s no place like home! This year's all new Home for the Holidays Show during Merry Farm on the Calico Mine Stage is Knott’s Berry Farms most ambitious stage set undertaking to date. If you haven’t seen the show yet, you will understand when you see it! The show and it’s set are inspired by a Currier & Ives hand-colored lithographic print from the 19th century and features a full facade of a “home” that flawlessly opens up to reveal it’s cozy interior with a living room equipped with a fireplace and a 2 story workable staircase. The 25 minute show starring 20 talented performers transports the audience to the Harper Family’s residence where they are busy preparing for a Christmas Eve gathering with their friends and loved ones.
The 1915 period costumes are perfection and the show includes a mix of Ballet, Tap and Musical Theatre dance during the “Home for the Holidays,” “Jingle Bells,” “Sleigh Ride,” and, “Deck the Halls,” musical numbers. The end result is sheer nostalgia and concludes with a charming dusting of snow on stage as well as for the audience to share in.
