Knott's Berry Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm is home to world-class rides, thrilling roller coasters, shows & attractions in 4 themed areas including Old West Ghost Town and Camp Snoopy.

This week on the Knott's Berry Blog, we'll be continuing our weekly series where we feature each one of our Knott's Anniversary Ambassadors. Our Knott's Anniversary Ambassadors are part of a yearly program where we work with prominent local bloggers who have a passion for all things Knott's!

Tell Us About Your Outlet:

We are an Orange County family with a focus on Theme Parks and diversity!  I am best known for the costumes I make for my daughters LittleGray and LittleSage.  They love dressing up like their favorite theme park characters!

Tell Us About Yourself:

I started making costumes for my daughters because I wanted them to match.  I couldn't find coordinating sister costumes in stores, so I started making them myself!  My grandmother supported her family by working in a sewing sweatshop in the San Francisco Bay Area Chinatown, but I am mainly self-taught when it comes to sewing.  I love looking at a theme park or character costume and figuring out how to translate it into a fun costume that my kids would like to wear.  My favorite costumes that I've made for our Knott's Berry Farm outings have been their Calico outfits for Ghost Town Alive, Peanut's Celebration Sally and Lucy hoop skirts, and Charlie Brown and Lucy Halloween costumes!

Since I am raising half-Asian daughters, I strive to teach them how to be actively anti-racist.  Diversity and inclusion is a big deal and is one of our core family values.  Asian representation is something that I am passionate about and I love that there are characters at Knott's Berry Farm that look, my children.  Many of their everyday role models are people who we have met at Knott's.

Favorite Knott's Memory:

My favorite memories from Knott's Berry Farm come from summer 2017 Ghost Town Alive!  I bought a mid-year Season Pass just so we could experience Ghost Town Alive.  We spent every week in Town Hall with Miss Pearl and Miss Elsie.  My kids loved writing notes and making deliveries around Calico.  During that summer, we got to know the citizens of Ghost Town Alive and they watched my kids grow up.  We truly became family.

Top Three Must Do's for People Visiting the Park:

  1. Meet Snoopy
  2. See the stunt show at Wagon Wheel (Tabby is our FAVORITE!)
  3. Enjoy a famous Knott's Berry Farm Funnel Cake

Any Fun Tips for People Visiting the Park:

Ghost Town is crawling with hidden jokes!  Head to the cemetery and look for the box of rattlers.  You might be surprised!
