Visiting Knott’s Berry Farm With Toddlers
We all know there are tons of things to do at Knott’s Berry Farm for kids and teens, but what about toddlers? My kids have grown up going to Knott’s since they were babies, so I have found ways to have fun with them no matter the age. I am here to tell you that Knott’s is absolutely fun for toddlers!
Head Over to Knott’s Camp Snoopy
When you have a toddler, Knott’s Camp Snoopy is the area on the Farm you will want to check out. This is where you will find the bulk of attractions geared for kids aged 3-9.
Let’s start off with the Camp Snoopy rides. There are height requirements for most of these rides, so these requirements will tell you which ones your toddler will be able to ride on according to height.
Grand Sierra Railroad, Balloon Race, Rocky Mountain Trucking Company, Rapid River Run, and Pig Pen’s Mud Buggies do not have height requirements when the child is accompanied by an adult. So as long as your toddler can sit next to you, they can ride these rides. And all of them are fun and not scary!
The Huff and Puff and Flying Ace rides are the two rides that kids as small as 32” inches can ride on without an adult. These happen to be my kids' favorite rides when they were toddlers. We have our favorite memories of Knott’s of my children riding these rides as toddlers.
As long as your child is 36” tall, they can ride the rest of the rides in Camp Snoopy without an adult.
Here are some other features of Camp Snoopy that you will want to know about if you have a toddler.
First, the picnic area is located in the heart of Camp Snoopy. Just look for the covered tables near the river overlook. Here you will find tables and chairs to sit and relax at. A little play area that has a fun hollow log and mushrooms to climb on and a large rock statue of Charlie Brown and Snoopy.
Second, the Baby Nursing Station. Here you will find a private area to nurse your baby with curtained sections with rocking chairs. There are also changing tables and sinks if you need to change your toddler.
Next, to the right of the nursing station and across from the picnic tables, you will find an area known as the caves. This cave area tunnels under a waterfall and is a nice shady, cool place to bring your toddlers. Although it’s not stroller friendly, toddlers love to run across the barrel bridges, play in the cave and look out at the waterfall.
As for food, the Grizzly Creek Lodge in Camp Snoopy is where you will find the most kid-friendly food. There are hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, chicken tenders, and even Snoopy kids meals!
Finally, don’t forget that your toddler can have the chance to meet Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang. Check the Knott’s app for meet & greet times, and then head over to the Peanuts Meet & Greet Area to get a picture with one of the characters.
Beyond Camp Snoopy
Next, we have the other Knott’s Berry Farm rides that are great for the whole family, including their toddlers.
The Calico Mine Ride, Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair, the Butterfield Stagecoach, Calico Railroad, and the Merry-Go-Round have no height restrictions. These rides are great to ride with the whole family, as everyone can ride them at the same time.
Again, if your child is 36” tall, you will find even more rides that they can go on. Check the Knott’s app to see the height restrictions for additional rides.
Finally, there’s more to Knott’s than the rides!
Although the rides are super fun, there is so much to do at Knott’s Berry Farm beside the rides.
Knott’s is famous for its shows and entertainment. Everyone is welcome at all the shows, and they are very family-friendly. During the holidays, you must check out all the seasonal shows. Our favorites are the Snoopy on Ice shows and the shows at the Camp Snoopy Theater. These are especially loved by toddlers.
When the rest of the park is busy, we love to head to Calico Ghost Town and just walk around. My kids love to roam the Calico streets and check out things like the Old Schoolhouse, the graveyard, and when it’s open...the animals in the Livery Stable.
Need a cool, quiet spot to take a break with your toddler. The Mystery Lodge area is great for that. Enjoy the sounds of Grizzly Falls and Koi fish swimming around. Plus, there are benches and shade!
There are so many times where we go to Knott’s and don’t go on a single ride. We love all parts of the Farm. That is the great thing about having a season pass. We have time to walk around and enjoy all the little details of Knott’s without the pressure of getting on all the rides. We’ve done this since my kids were toddlers, one of the reasons I feel that my kids have come to love Knott’s so much.
I hope this article has given you the information you needed to get the most of Knott’s when bringing your toddler. I’ve made the best memories with my toddlers at Knott’s, and I hope you will too.
