Knott’s Take Home Holiday Dinners
During the holidays, we love getting together with family. This year, I decided to make it easier on everyone. We skipped spending the entire day in the kitchen and ordered a Knott’s Holiday Feast.
Knott’s Berry Farm saves the headache with their holiday take-home dinners. Invite your friends and family and place your order online at Knotts.com.
Plan ahead and get ready for Christmas with the Christmas Eve Take Home Dinner:
- 12-14 lb. Roasted Turkey OR 8 - 10 lb Glazed Ham
- 2 Quarts of Country Apple Stuffing
- 2 Quarts of Mashed Potatoes
- 2 Quarts of Mac and Cheese
- 8 oz. of Cranberry Sauce
- 8 oz. of Bread and Butter Pickles
- 1 Quart of Broccoli Cheddar Soup
- 1 Quart of Honey Glazed Carrots
- 1 Quart of Whole Kernel Corn
- 1 Quart of Gravy
- 1 Dozen Dinner Rolls
- Butter and 4 oz. jar of Boysenberry Preserves
- Choice of Boysenberry Pie or Pecan Pie
The online ordering system was quick. For Thanksgiving, we had the choice of two pick-up dates and a number of pick-up times; however, for Christmas, December 24th is the pick-up date. There are a variety of pick-up times - however, the window is between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. I was unsure of which to choose because I didn’t know if the meal would be picked straight out of the refrigerator or the oven. I was pleasantly surprised that when we picked up our box, it was HOT! So plan accordingly.
We were hosting between 6 and 8 people for our holiday dinner. Since the holiday take-home dinner feeds approximately 6-8 people, I figured we were ordering enough food with one box. However, my husband was unsure. Therefore, we added a glazed ham to our order.
TIP: Are you a Season Passholder? If you are, you will receive a 10% discount when ordering. Make sure you place the order under your account.
Once the order was placed, we received a “ticket” or a confirmation of our order, which I printed and kept on our desk. This is a step you do not need to do as your mobile device, showing your order, works as well.
At the bottom of our confirmation were the pick-up instructions. Knott’s makes this just as easy. You enter the East Parking Lot (regular - shared - parking for Knott’s Berry Farm and Soak City) directly from La Palma Ave. between Beach Blvd. and Stanton Ave. Once you are in the lot, follow the signs or check in with the parking attendants, who will guide you to the pick-up location.
There, a friendly Knott’s Berry Farm associate will assist you by checking your ticket and delivering your pre-ordered Holiday Take Home Dinner. You do not even need to get out of your car as they will load it into your trunk for you.
TIP: Bring the vehicle with the biggest trunk, as the box is pretty big.
Once you get your box home, when you open it, you’ll find the reheat instructions. I did notice the turkey and ham were quite warm, but we followed the instructions and placed them in the oven for about 45 minutes at 350°. And we did the same with the ham.
While the meats were in the oven, we began reheating all of the side dishes in the microwave. At this time, I created one of my grandmother’s traditional side dishes we typically have with our holiday meals, but additional sides are not needed as this was plenty of food.
We sliced the turkey and ham and indulged. Amazingly, there ended up being only 5 of us, and we had plenty of leftovers to have another full meal.
This year, I recommend saving time and go with Knott’s Christmas Eve Take Home Dinner. It saves you so much time and lets you spend more time with the ones you love. Happy Holidays!
