Have Fun. Stay Safe.
We know you come to Knott's Berry Farm for the countless thrills and endless excitement. We want you to know that while you're focused on the fun, we're focused on your safety. Here are a few terms and tips that will help you stay safe while getting the most out of your day in the park.
At Knott’s Berry Farm, we want all of our guests to have a safe and enjoyable day. Every guest has different capabilities and limitations. Guests of extreme size, those with temporary disabilities (such as casts and braces), and certain permanent disabilities (such as neuromuscular disorders, amputations, and other disabling conditions) may be prohibited from participating on some attractions for safety reasons. Handheld infants may not be taken on the park’s attractions that are more aggressive. Expectant mothers and guests with heart or back conditions should be cautious in deciding which attractions to experience.
For your protection, all the attractions here at Knott’s Berry Farm incorporate safety systems that are designed by the manufacturer to accommodate people of average physical stature and body proportion. All passenger restraint systems, including lap bars, shoulder harnesses, and seatbelts must be positioned and fastened properly to allow guests to ride. Due to rider restraint requirements, guests of exceptional size may not be accommodated on some of our attractions. This may apply, but not be limited to, guests who exceed 6' 2" or those who exceed 250 pounds (some attractions may have lower weight restrictions), have a 46" waistline or 54" chest. Extremely large or small individuals, guests who have a history of heart, back or neck trouble or recent surgery, expectant mothers, guests with casts, braces, restrictive devices or disabilities may be affected by the requirements needed to ensure these systems operate properly.
Our ride admission policy has been developed in consultation with the recommendations of the manufacturer, our past experience, and our evaluation of each attraction using our knowledge of the attraction both in normal and emergency operating conditions. Our prime consideration is the ability of each guest to endure the dynamics of each attraction without the risk of injury to that guest or other riders. If you would like more rider information, please request a “Guest Assistance Guide” available at Guest Services, located in Ghost Town. We’ll be happy to brief you on our ride admission policy and explain how it applies to your specific situation.
Most attractions cannot accommodate strollers, backpacks, cameras, stuffed animals, or bulky objects. Please leave them with a non-riding friend. Ride Operators cannot be responsible for these items. For safety reasons, eating/drinking, taking pictures, videotaping, and filming while participating on the attractions is prohibited. Headwear is discouraged on most attractions; however, if worn, it must be secured.
KidTrack, a wristband program that will assist you and the park personnel in reuniting your group should you become separated, is available at Guest Services. The park offers Rider Swap which allows one parent to ride while another parent waits with the child. When the ride is complete, the parents swap child responsibility at the exit.
For the safety of all park guests, all rides have rider height requirements based on the manufacturers’ recommendations. Other appropriate safety requirements may also apply. The ride height requirements are posted at the attraction entrance.
Some attractions may require a supervising companion to accompany a guest. A supervising companion is someone who meets all the requirements to ride the ride themselves, is 14 years of age or older, and demonstrates appropriate observed behavior. Supervising Companions are responsible for ensuring that the guest remains seated properly-where applicable-and follows all rules and regulations. For the safety of your child, a standard play shoe which does not contribute excessively to the child’s height is required. For example, a child is not permitted to wear platform shoes to help meet a height requirement. Knott’s Berry Farm reserves the right to ask that shoes be removed to ensure that a child’s height is not being artificially enhanced or manipulated.
We work very hard at Knott’s Berry Farm to provide a safe and exciting entertainment experience. However, without your cooperation, we cannot be successful. Please comply with all posted or distributed rules and guidelines. Use common sense. Respect the person and property of others. Please do not bring food or drink into the park. Do not engage in activities, which are beyond your ability or physical capacity. Be personally responsible that you are in good health and free from heart, back, or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions, which could be aggravated by the park’s attractions. No marijuana use is allowed on the Knott’s property. Tobacco, cigarette, and e-cigarette smoking is allowed in designated areas only. Animals are not allowed inside the Park with the exception of service animals. A valid form of admission and a hand stamp are required for re-entry to the park on the same day. Some private or special ticket events do not allow re-entry. The Park is subject to closures in full or in part due to inclement weather. No refunds due to weather closures.
