Knott's Berry Farm Reopening Protocols

When Knott's Berry Farm opens, we want you to have a fun day and feel safe when visiting, so we developed an extensive coronavirus reopening plan – new processes and enhanced procedures throughout the park to help reduce the spread of germs. We’re all in this together and by working together you can safely and confidently enjoy the fun that only Knott's Berry Farm can deliver.

This page provides you with essential information for what you will need to do before you arrive at Knott's Berry Farm, what you’ll see and experience when you arrive, and how to make the most of your visit—safely—when you get here.


Reservations Required
All guests must make a reservation in advance before coming to the park.


Mobile App
At least one member of your group should have the park mobile app on their phone.


Face Coverings Required
Guests will be required to wear face coverings indoors unless fully vaccinated.


Health Screenings
Health screenings will not be required for guests at the park.


Hand Sanitization
Hand sanitization stations have been added throughout the park.


Use of Location Services
Enabling the Location Services feature in the park app allows us to send you real-time updates.

Before You Leave Home

Knott's Berry Farm and Knott’s Soak City require a reservation for visitation at this time. To ensure that happens, you will need to purchase tickets or Season Passes online in advance for your visit. You will also need to make a reservation for your visit date. In addition to selecting your visit date, you must select an arrival time in advance if you are visiting Knott’s Soak City. Here are details about what to do, what to pack, and what you can expect.

While planning your trip to the park, please take a moment to self-assess for any potential COVID-19 symptoms. Please reschedule your visit for another day if you or anyone in your group has been exposed to or experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 within the past 10 days. 

Season Passholders 

  • If you have not yet purchased your Season Pass, please do so on our Season Pass page.
  • After purchasing your Season Pass online, or if you already have a valid Season Pass, you must reserve your visit date through our online reservation portal or the Store tab on the Knott’s Berry Farm mobile app. If you are visiting Knott’s Soak City, you must also select an arrival time. Please note that your preferred visit date may not be available. 
    • When starting the reservation process, please have your Season Pass number(s) available.
    • Select the quantity of reservations for your group. You may select up to 14 people.
    • On the next screen, you will be able to select an available visit date and arrival time for your group (you will only need to select an arrival time if you are visiting Knott’s Soak City).
    • Following the date and time selection, please enter your valid Season Pass number(s).  
    • Once the barcodes have been validated, you will be able to schedule your reservation(s). 
  • After you have made the reservation, you will receive a confirmation screen and shortly thereafter, an email confirmation. These will help you confirm that the transaction was processed.  
  • The reservation will be attached to your Season Pass and you will only need to present it to be scanned for entry. 
  • If you need to purchase a parking pass, we recommend you do so now to avoid paying at the parking toll booth. 


Single Day Ticketholders Who Have Not Yet Purchased A Ticket 

  • If you have not yet purchased your single-day ticket, you may do so on our Knott’s Berry Farm Tickets with Reservations page or our Knott's Soak City Tickets with Reservations page. Any tickets purchased from this page includes your reservation. 
  • After you have purchased your ticket including a reservation, you will receive a confirmation screen and shortly thereafter, an email confirmation. These will help you confirm that the transaction was processed. 
  • The reservation will be attached to your ticket and you will only need to present it to be scanned for entry. Please note that each single-day ticket guest must have a valid admission ticket to enter the park in addition to the reservation. 
  • If you need to purchase a parking pass, we recommend you do so now to avoid paying at the parking toll booth. 


Single Day Ticketholders Who Purchased A Ticket Before April 26, 2021

  • If you purchased a single day ticket before April 26, 2021, you must reserve your visit date through our online reservation portal or the Store tab on the Knott's Berry Farm mobile app. If you are visiting Knott’s Soak City, you must also select an arrival time. Please note that your preferred visit date may not be available.
    • When starting the reservation process, please have your ticket numbers available.
    • Select the quantity of reservations for your group. You may select up to 14 people.
    • On the next screen, you will be able to select an available visit date and arrival time for your group (you will only need to select an arrival time if you are visiting Knott’s Soak City).
    • Following the date and time selection, please enter your valid ticket number(s).  
    • Once the barcodes have been validated, you will be able to schedule your reservation(s).

What to Pack Before You Arrive 

  • Your Season Pass, mobile, or printed tickets.  
  • The State of California strongly recommends that Park guests be either fully vaccinated, obtain a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of attending the Park or wear a face covering. Face Coverings are required in all Indoor Public Settings for unvaccinated individuals who are not otherwise exempt. 
  • Contactless payment methods (other than cash) such as credit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. 
  • A mobile phone with the Knott’s Berry Farm app downloaded and "Location Services" enabled. It is recommended that at least one person in your group should have the app downloaded to their mobile device. 

When You Arrive

Our reopening plan calls for new arrival processes to prepare everyone for a safe and successful day at the park. Here’s what you’ll see and experience when you arrive at Knott's Berry Farm:

  1. At the Knott's Berry Farm parking toll booth, we will ask you for proof of parking payment. If you do not have a parking voucher, you may pay with a cashless payment method such as a credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. 
  2. At the gate, our Knott's Berry Farm bag policy remains in place.  
  3. At our turnstiles, scan your Season Pass or single-day ticket inside the mobile app and let the fun begin!

When You're in the Park

You’re here and that means it’s time for fun! To help you enjoy your day, here’s what you’ll see and experience inside the park.  

Reminders and Protocols  

The coronavirus has created a new way of life for everyone. Here are some reminders and protocols to keep in mind when you visit the park:  

  • Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds. We have many hand sanitizer stations all through the park. 
  • Avoid touching your face.  
  • The State of California strongly recommends that Park guests be either fully vaccinated, obtain a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of attending the Park, or wear a face covering. Face Coverings are required in all Indoor Public Settings for unvaccinated individuals who are not otherwise exempt. 
  • Be in the know about all things Knott's Berry Farm with our mobile app. You can find nearby hand sanitizer stations, restrooms, open dining locations, and available attractions and rides.  
  • Use contactless forms of payment, including credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. 
  • Associates have been trained on the importance of handwashing, physical distancing, and overall hygiene. 
  • For the comfort of all guests, smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking areas, which are located outside of the park exit only. 


Restrooms 

Everyone knows restrooms can be a source of germs, so we want you to know we are following strict guidelines to help you have a safe experience. We are:  

  • Routinely cleaning and sanitizing our restrooms throughout the day. 


Because we’re all in this together, please make sure to wash your hands after using the restroom.

Rides and Attractions 

To avoid the spread of germs, here’s what you’ll see and experience at our rides and attractions:    

  • The State of California strongly recommends that Park guests be either fully vaccinated, obtain a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of attending the Park, or wear a face covering. Face Coverings are required in all Indoor Public Settings for unvaccinated individuals who are not otherwise exempt.  
  • Seats, restraints, headrests, and armrests will be cleaned routinely.  


Dining 

We know delicious, fun food is a special part of the Knott's Berry Farm experience and we’ve got you covered. Here’s what you’ll see and experience when enjoying our scrumptious food and beverages:  

  •  Plastic barriers between guests and associates.  
  • Contactless payments, including credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are encouraged.  
  • Check out Mobile Food Ordering on our mobile app. Order from select locations at the park, check-in at the restaurant and pick up. It’s fast, easy, and touchless! 


Shops, Merchandise, and Games  

  • The State of California strongly recommends that Park guests be either fully vaccinated, obtain a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of attending the Park, or wear a face covering. Face Coverings are required in all Indoor Public Settings for unvaccinated individuals who are not otherwise exempt. 
  • Contactless payment is encouraged where possible. 
  • Some indoor entertainment locations may be closed.

Before You Leave Home Frequently Asked Questions

Unfortunately, no. We must limit the number of guests at the park. You must purchase your Season Pass or ticket and make a reservation online or on the Knott's Berry Farm mobile app prior to visiting the park.

All guests will need to make a reservation prior to visiting Knott’s Berry Farm or Knott's Soak City. Knott's Berry Farm and Knott's Soak City reservations are available now.

If you are part of a planned group visit to the park or have Group Sales tickets, contact your group organizer/leader for details. Group organizers/leaders should contact their park sales representatives directly.

If you purchased your ticket somewhere other than the park website, you may make a reservation through our online reservation portal

Each visiting guest will need a reservation attached to their Season Pass or a specific dated ticket purchased online in advance to enter the park. The date you are visiting must match the date on your Season Passholder reservation or single day ticket purchase. For Season Passholder reservations, you will need to enter each Season Pass number to add the reservation to each one individually. You can enter up to 14 numbers in one transaction to ensure everyone in your party gets the same date reservation.

The online reservation portal is open now.

There is no waitlist process, but you are welcome to continue to check back as additional availability may be added based on updates to local capacity guidelines and/or cancellations. Or you can pick a different day with inventory available to ensure you can visit the park.

If a reservation is canceled, that space will be added to the inventory available online. And periodically, we may be able to adjust total inventory.

Platinum Passholders wanting to visit other Cedar Fair parks should visit the website of the park they want to visit to view their visitation policies/make a reservation. 

Due to reservation requirements, Season Passes and tickets must be purchased online prior to visiting.

As a new Passholder without a Season Pass card, you will need to process your Season Pass or use the barcode number on your Season Pass e-voucher.  

To make Season Pass processing easier and contact-free, you can now handle this online.  

Simply create or login to your Knott’s Berry Farm website account, click “Manage Passes,” click “ADD MY PASS” and enter the Ticket ID you received when you purchased online along with any other outstanding profile information. Once you’ve completed adding your pass, you’re all set to visit. You can even add your pass to the mobile app for quick and convenient entry into the park. 

There is no charge for the Season Passholder reservation. And if that is the only item in your shopping cart, you will not need to enter credit card information to complete the transaction.

If you are unable to visit the park on the selected date or on the date of your Season Pass reservation, please use the online Reservation Booking Portal to adjust your visit date.

The reservation is attached to a specific Season Pass and cannot be transferred to another guest.

As a Regular Season Passholder, you may have up to two active reservations at a time for Knott’s Berry Farm. As a Gold or Platinum Season Passholder, you may have up to two active reservations at a time for Knott’s Berry Farm and two active reservations at a time for Knott’s Soak City Waterpark.  

Knott's Berry Farm and Knott's Soak City reservations are available now. 

It is not required, but it is strongly recommended that you purchase parking in advance online before visiting the park.  

Platinum Season Passes include parking so you just need to have your Season Pass available to be scanned at the parking toll booth.  

Some ticket packages include parking, so you just need to have the barcode for that package available to be scanned at the parking toll booth.  

Otherwise, please purchase a parking voucher online. One voucher is needed per car. This will be scanned at the parking toll booth. 

Any of the following symptoms that are not caused by a known chronic health condition:  

  • Fever (100.4°F / 38°C or higher)  
  • Difficulty breathing  
  • Unusual fatigue  
  • Cold or flu-like symptoms  
  • Repeated shaking/chills  
  • New loss of taste or smell  
  • Cough  
  • Muscle pain  
  • Headache  
  • Sore throat  
  • Congestion or runny nose  
  • Nausea  
  • Diarrhea  

Additionally, you could be contagious if you have been in direct contact with a close relative, roommate, or neighbor who has been diagnosed with the coronavirus or been told by a health care professional or employer you may have been exposed to the coronavirus. 

You do not need to complete a health assessment questionnaire prior to arriving at the park. While planning your trip to the park, please take a moment to self-assess for any potential COVID-19 symptoms. Please reschedule your visit for another day if you or anyone in your group has been exposed to or experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 within the past 10 days.

If everyone in your family or group has been exposed to the person who has symptoms, it’s best if everyone in your party stays home and you reschedule your visit.

When You Arrive Frequently Asked Questions

All guests will need to make a reservation prior to visiting Knott’s Berry Farm or Knott’s Soak City. 

If you arrive at the park without a reservation, please visit Guest Services to inquire about availability. We will accommodate you if possible, but there is no guarantee. 

Guests with a Knott's Berry Farm reservation can enter at any time on your reserved day. Guests with a Knott's Soak City reservation may arrive at or after the reserved arrival time on the selected day of visit, but not before.

Guests will not be required to complete a health screen questionnaire. While planning your trip to the park, please take a moment to self-assess for any potential COVID-19 symptoms. Please reschedule your visit for another day if you or anyone in your group has been exposed to or experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 within the past 10 days.

The health and safety of our guests and associates remains our top priority. After consulting with medical experts and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we have decided to discontinue temperature checks, except where required by state or local jurisdictions. The pandemic has shown temperature screening will not be completely effective because individuals who have no symptoms associated with COVID-19, or those with mild non-specific symptoms, may not realize they are infected and may pass through screening. 

One of the things we’ve learned in this pandemic, and it’s been talked about a lot over the past year, is that a lot of people transmit the virus with no symptoms or fever. As noted above, the pandemic has shown temperature screening will not be completely effective because individuals who have no symptoms associated with COVID-19, or those with mild non-specific symptoms, may not realize they are infected and may pass through screening. As more is learned and understood about COVID-19, guidelines and recommendations from the CDC and others have evolved.

Face Coverings are required in all Indoor Public Settings for unvaccinated individuals who are not otherwise exempt.   

Children under the age of two are not required to wear face coverings. Also, under the provisions of the California Department of Public Health Face Covering Guidance, guests with a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability that prevents wearing a face covering will not be required to wear one. 

Per our normal operating guidelines and in compliance with the CDC, we are routinely cleaning and sanitizing our restrooms throughout the day.

Yes. Keep your original e-ticket and you can exit and return on the same day. A photo will be taken upon entering the park that will attach to your e-ticket for verification.

You are welcome to stay as long as you like until the park closes for the day.

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures - for you, our other guests, and our ambassadors. You must follow all posted instructions while visiting the park. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the CDC, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

If you are exhibiting any COVID-19-related symptoms, you should not enter or remain in the park.
