As a mom of three children under 6 years old, I love finding adventures that ALL of my kids find magical, and sometimes that’s a tall order! But when I say, “Get dressed, kids! We’re going to Knott’s Berry Farm,” all three are racing to the car, anticipating what the day’s adventure will bring! And Knott’s is bringing our family tons of adventure this summer, celebrating its 100th Anniversary. We find ourselves there every other week! Well, today, I'm going to share with you how I navigate those awesome trips to Knott’s with an almost 2-year-old girl along with my boys, who are 5 and 6. Visiting Knott's Berry Farm with Small Kids can be fun for the whole family, with a few tips to help your day run smoothly.

First things first! Children 2 and under get into Knott's Berry Farm for FREE. I don’t know about you, but we love free!!! Kids ages 3-11 will need a Junior Ticket! Now let's get started with my tips for Visiting Knott's Berry Farm with small kids.

Tip #1 Start in Camp Snoopy

We always start our day in Camp Snoopy because there are rides for children of all ages, but it especially caters to smaller children with Peanuts Characters Meet & Greets and rides children as small as 32 inches can go on alone! By the time we finish enjoying Camp Snoopy, my toddler daughter has fallen asleep in the stroller, and my older kids can enjoy the rollercoasters. It’s a win for everyone! Camp Snoopy is conveniently located just to the right of the main park entrance.

On one of our recent trips to Knott’s, I was both shocked and delighted when my not even 2-year-old daughter got on her very first ride all by herself! I tried to accompany her on the Flying Ace, but staff told me I was too big to get on with her and that she was tall enough to ride alone! I couldn’t’ believe it and actually shed a tear! I was so proud of my baby girl growing up. It was a Berry special moment I’ll never forget.

Tip #2 Plan To Go on Rides for Small Kids

Below find a list of rides for smaller children with height requirements.
Flying Ace (between 32" and 54")
Balloon Race (min. height 36" or accompanied by a supervising companion)
Camp Bus (min. height 42" or accompanied by a supervising adult)
Rapid River Run (min. height 42" or with a supervising adult)
Rocky Mountain Trucking Co. (min. height 42" or with a supervising adult.)
Timberline Twister (between 36" and 69")
Woodstock’s Airmail (min. height 36")
High Sierra Ferris Wheel (min. height 54" or 36" with an adult)
Huff and Puff (under 52")
Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair (min. height 42" or with a supervising adult). This is Knott's NEWEST RIDE, a loving tribute to the original “Knott’s Bear-y Tales” attraction from the 70s & 80s. It's a slow-moving interactive 4-D family ride.

Tip #3  Enjoy Character Meet & Greets

This one just maybe my favorite part! My daughter insists on bringing her Snoopy doll along when we visit Knott's Berry Farm. She runs on the stage to see Snoopy every time, and it's the cutest thing ever. Costumed Peanuts characters also make special appearances in Camp Snoopy, where they pose for photo ops.

In Ghost Town, western characters are ready to tell their story to curious kids. Guns are a part of the Midwest theme there, so be sure and check your schedule to enjoy or avoid the gunfight in Calico Square, depending on your family's preference.

You'll also get the chance to meet Knott's NEWEST characters Boysen-Berry, Crafty Coyote, and his pups Moxie & Brawny, at the Bear-y Factory Truck right under the ride!

A Few More Miscellaneous Tips:

  • Knott's offers single and double stroller rentals
  • Knott's offers a Parent Locator in case your child wanders off, so be sure and register them at the Information Office when you arrive.
  • There's a baby nursing and changing station with a microwave for baby food inside Camp Snoopy for the family's convenience.
  • Dress the Part…(optional)… We love wearing Knott’s signature colors for our trips, so we do a lot of matching in purple or yellow. I also buy fun accessories like my Boysenberry Beret and my daughter’s Boysenberry fascinator from on-site vendors like Ms. Doolittles.

I hope my tips for visiting Knott's Berry Farm with small kids have been helpful! I love being a Knott's Berry Farm Ambassador and sharing about all the adventures it has to offer. Thanks so much for checking this out!
